U-Boat Worx launches the high-performance HP Sport Sub 2

Renowned Dutch submersible manufacturer U-Boat Worx has launched its new ultra-compact 2-person “HP Sport Sub 2”, a high-performance submersible ready to fit onboard any superyacht. It can even be towed behind a car.

According to Founder and Chairman Bert Houtman, this remarkable submersible design is “suitable for all superyachts from 30 meters and up”. The luxury submersible has a 100-meter (330-feet) depth-rating and weighs only 2,200 kg. Add to that its ultra-low height of 136 cm (53 inches) and superb performance, and in the HP Sport Sub 2 you have easily the best choice among personal sports submersibles.

The design is attractive, but above all, safe and functional”, says Houtman.“We’ve adopted a very different look compared to traditional submersibles, but without compromising safety and ease of use - the ability to easily board the craft at the surface, for example.”

The result is a modern and streamlined submersible with fantastic performance. Whether at the surface or underwater, its speed and maneuverability are exceptional. Although this “subsea-Ferrari” was principally designed to maximize the excitement of diving, U-Boat Worx has created a full-fledged submersible.

U-Boat Worx’ HP Sport Sub 2 costs €1,000,000 and production models are scheduled for delivery for the autumn of 2015.

THE RICHARD MILLE RM 33-01 AUTOMATIC WATCH - 2015

A few weeks ahead of the SIHH 2015, Richard Mille unveils the RM 33-01, a synthesis of chic design and a sporty feel encapsulated in an automatic watch. The embodiment of Richard Mille elegance, it holds the promise of an exceptional 2015 collection.

The new skeletonized RMXP3 caliber that will drive the RM 33-01 has an off-center platinum micro rotor. This architecture reveals the grade 5 titanium movement, which is wet sandblasted and electroplasmatreated, the surfaces microblasted, drawn and satin-finished and the anglage entirely worked by hand. The RMXP3 caliber was subjected to numerous particularly arduous tests—impacts, temperature variations, etc.—for several weeks to guarantee resistance and the perfect functioning of the movement in all circumstances.

The apparently traditional conceptual approach is very quickly dominated by the taut lines of the sports-inspired design that combines the curvature of the brand’s tonneau cases with the constructions characteristic of its round watches. The graphic style of the numerals contribute to confirming the watch’s dynamic energy, while their outsized dimensions offer a dial with perfect readability, whilst allowing the wearer to admire the complex movement and its bridges in grade 5 titanium, drawn by hand and PVD treated. As with every creation in the Richard Mille collection, the ergonomics of the RM 33-01 bear witness to the care that has been taken with it.

The tripartite case, with a diameter of 45.70 mm and a thickness of 9.20 mm, is mounted on a rubber strap secured with a folding clasp in grade 5 titanium. Water-resistant to 30 meters, it is assembled using 14 grade 5 titanium spline screws.
The RM 33-01 will be available in titanium, red gold or white gold with a caseband in grade 5 titanium.
